Buying aftershock pc during mining craze

Hi my comp died recently and need a replacement. The games i currently play are CS/overwatch/dota that do not need high graphics cards. But I do intend on upgrading to a better graphic card in the future once the mining craze subsides.

The aftershock PC specs are :

i7-8700K + ASROCK Z370M PRO 4
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5
8GB DDR4 2400mhz
120GB SSD (M.2)
TOSHIBA 1TB 3.5 INCH HDD
Windows 10 Home

Price around 1800. No need keyboard,mouse,desktop etc.

Can someone share with me if this price is reasonable? are aftershock GPU prices subjected to inflation due to mining as compared to buying a GPU standalone

They will too and you will be paying for it for sure together with the ram

8700k with poor 8gb ram and 120gb SSD for $1800 is far too expensive.

$1800 I believe you can do far much better.

Looking at the specs I believe the ddr4 ram and the gpu probably is overprice thats why it hits 1.8k. Guessing aftershock isn't immune to the gpu mining craze price hike and the ddr4 shortage pricing.

Maybe can choose the recently release ryzen apu 2400g can play your overwatch/cs go/ dota with the igpu. No need to buy any gpu. When gpu mining craze subside can then buy a 1080ti or 2080ti pop it in viola you have a super powerful gaming pc.

If you are open to waiting for your replacement to be fulfilled in a timely manner similar to that of a professional workstation, ordering from aftershock is ok

If you expect your replacement to arrive in days, look elsewhere

I won't even want to speculate on prices...
Just buy what you are willing to spend for a PC vis a vis your needs and when those needs need to be fulfilled.

Yes, comparing prices from before, the price might stay the same but the GPU they give is a grade lower (e.g. 1070 > 1060).

Aftershock is not immune to the inflated GPU and Ram prices. Considering that you are only getting a stick of 8GB DDR4 ram, most of the cost probably comes from the GPU. If you can hold off buying a graphic card, I suggest you wait for the prices to return to a more reasonable price.

So since everyone is rushing to get their hands on a GPU, any GPU, so they happily sell them as mining GPUs. The rig is anyway, ultra overpriced considering I was able to get a GTX 1050 2GB for about 150 bucks back then. 12x units is only 1800, or I can round it up to 2K. The next most expensive part is the PSU, which should not cost more than 1K since they probably picked the cheapest PSU. Remaining items should not even cost anywhere near 1K. Everything else is profit for them.

True, but considering that the DAC side of Eth now is more than 2GB, a mining rig made up for 2GB GPUs is like almost DOA. This is just plain taking advantage of people who wont know better

Aftershock prices are slightly higher than SLS "DIY" prices, but thats the price you pay for "service".
with DIY setup, if anything goes wrong, you need to diagnose yourself, whereas for aftershock, you can just ask them.

another downside is the waiting time from aftershock. i was quoted a waiting time of 3-4 weeks.

1050 can mine equihash based crypto like Zcash. Equihash uses core more than mem. Convert to BTC to cash out.
