Anybody bought Cat 6 RJ45 cable from Sim Lim or other hardware store lately?
How much were you charged? I need about 20m.

If it's the same shop that is 'famous' for its Belden cable then should be:

LHS Electronics Enterprise, 10 Jalan Besar, #02-27 Sim Lim Tower, S208787, Tel: 62932242

Thanks, I'll go check him/her out. Flat cable... wonder if will be more easily subjected to interference.

Interference is not dependent on the type of cable, be it the coil one or flat one. It's dependent on the shielding used and the quality of the insulation I believe. I use all flat cables for myself as they are more adaptable to angles and will unlikely to coil up even after tearing it out from the box..

The usual round type cable will continue to coil up and it takes time for it to settle down..

Hi, I'm actually looking into something similar myself, 20m of lan cable.

I'm concerned about two things: physical robustness and quality, so,

1. Would round cables be better than flat? The cable is likely to be used out in the open, so the cables need to be sturdy.

2. Would Cat7 be worthwhile?
