Buying hdd

Not been to SLS in the past 10 months. Tiagong the place is ghost town.

That aside, I see the prices are low for Tradepac compared to other SLS shops (as usual given Tradepac's modus operandi). Not sure how it compares to Amazon (with or without sales). A cursory search on Lazada doesn't seem to yield competitive prices. One concern with buying from online non SG sellers is the lack of warranty (for goods without international warranty).

1. Other than Tradepac, where else?

2. Toshiba 1TB 3.5'' internals are ok?

Lazada qoo10 need vouchers to be cheap or any kind of sales.

tradepac is fine.

IT fair actually can have some quite good prices. I have gotten HDD at a very competitive price during it shows when I needed it more urgently. If not I will always wait for online sales.

Shopee some time have flash sales for Toshiba 1TB. Which goes as low as below 60.(of cus still above 50)

Seems like they only have WD Blues. I'm fine with them, but I want to get a different brand for back up purposes. Just paranoia to want to get different brands for different copies of the same data.

So far I only see Hitachi drives at >1TB storage capacities. Anyway, I should be Hitachi when I move to the 4TB realm.

imo all hdd will spoilt, but seagate rma is one of the easiest...

Western Digital 3TB, Hitachi 3TB and a Seagate 8TB.

I got Hitachi 3TB first. Western Digital 2nd a few years ago. WD has been RMA-ed once. Hitachi is fine.

Recently added Seagate 8TB. Its ***** noisy. So much click/clack.. irritating HDD. Seagate should last but the brand has stigma of having bad failure rates during 2-4TB era.

i have wd green rma multiple times. blue just spoilt.
don't like wd 5400rpm hdd
HGST HDD 4tB high idle power consumption , so will heat up the casing?
