Is it worth to buy this any of this 2 configurations from SMU?

abit disappointed to see the SMU tender specs so cui. i thought can get good ones.

I am using for school work. am a computer and design person. photoshop here and there.

Where should i buy from apple store or SMU tender?

SMU tender got free software (office, antivirus) and cheaper by 40 bucks based on a 8GB and 1 year care.

Or should i buy ram outside? 128gb for HDD like so little.

- I've never purchased any stuffs from SMU before, both my MBA & MBP were purchased from Apple Store - education pricing
- No. You wouldn't be getting the SMU freebies from Apple Store. USB Mouse? Apple magic mouse is the mouse!
- MBA 128GB is MEHHHHH. I don't know, but for me, my iTunes music library alone already over 70+GB, so 128GB is a NONO for me.
- What course are you in btw?

I'm also from SMU, and frankly the PC tender for mac sucks. Just buy straight from Apple online store, not much difference price wise unless you care about the cheapo mouse and mouse pad they throw in.

IITS only provide the Windows version of Office 2010 last I checked and Mac no need antivirus.

What you get if you buy from SMU is probably a replacement PC if your mac spoil/sent for servicing and lots of bloatware like video-conferencing apps which you don't really need.

haha. I also created a thread regarding the MBA

I also can't decide leh. But one of the main things I don't like is they will add the partition for boot camp, which according to my seniors who use MBA, said that OS X can support all the functions u need already. no need boot camp. and 128gb after u count in the OS X, is 98gb (courtesy of catalyxt, from my thread discussion), then windows take up another 30gb? By then no space to store stuff liao.

So, I'm thinking of buying 1.3 GHZ base MBA from apple store, 256GB, 8 GB ram? Sounds like a plan?

Thanks for the valuable insight! I also did my calculations and realised the diff in price is really minimal, and especially when I at home already have a spare VGA cable.

How about the "Next business day, pick up and return services. Loan set will be provided if repairs cannot be resolved by next working day ( excluding Sat, Sun & Public Holiday )" that the PC tender offer?

Seems rather attractive to me in the event, touch wood, the mac crash, then at least got loan set to bank on.
