Hi guys I’m a student here looking to buy a new laptop, preferably something 12-14 inch and portable since I need to bring it around every day. Any recommendations? Budget is around 1.5k. I game occasionally like fifa on my laptop but mostly will use it for school work and watching videos etc. Good battery life is a plus

Also, where do you guys normally buy your laptops?

Thanks!

The usual questions, any specific requirements by your school / course.

Any recommended models by your school?
If you are starting Polytechnic, there will be a school notebook fair with pretty good deals.

You can check those out.

No there are no specific requirements. School work mainly revolves around Microsoft office. No recommended models either.

Hmm but it’s around 2k right?

Hunt around; even without discounts I've seen models go as low as 1.6k to 1.7k. Try Lazada, Qoo10 and even Challenger's website. Challenger is surprisingly good for pricing during non-discount seasons (sometimes) if you know what you're looking for, especially combined with their membership rebates.

With discounts, you're potentially looking at it lying on the fringe of your budget.

Just wondering.

Challenger's discounts apply to members only?

Are their prices for non-members still lower than other retailers', from your surveys?
