Hi all,

I was wondering if I should buy my rig from Amazon instead so I got a few questions to ask before buying anything.

1.The things amazon sell is from the company Amazon or is it from other people?

2.If I buy from amazon and need to ship it back for warranty, is I pay for the shipping or Amazon?

3.Can I pay via my bank account?

4.Should I just buy my whole rig from amazon and DIY if its cheaper then in SLS?

5.The price I see on the website is it USD or SGD?

Mainly mobo+cpu, Gfx card and casing try to get locally.
The rest can get overseas provided you know what you are doing.

if lazy, can order from local retailers like Lazada, mynextcom or some well known forumers.

for amazon, bank account as in telegraphic transfer? but most use credit card.

as for price, simply download Cybermind's pricelist and compare. Do note Cybermind is one of the more expensive sellers in SLS so it's a good yardstick.

Amazon prices are in USD, but on checkout, will show SGD.

On a personal note, most times, Amazon is NOT cheaper. since there are local online retailers, plus no warranty hassle, i rather buy local if im lazy.

Also remember Amazon is subject to tax when shipped here if price is above a certain range. your choice.

I always prefer to buy locally if the price difference is less than 30%. Less hassle for RMA and most shops allow one-to-one exchange within a certain number of days.

for local, SLS shops....

Tradepac for price. No comments on customer experience but im not bothered.
Cybermind for browsing.
can also go for Videopro.
Game specific items go for Tecdrome, Gamepro.
ask for discounts and compare with a few shops.

Hi all,

2.If I buy from amazon and need to ship it back for warranty, is I pay for the shipping or Amazon?

Note that for this point, you can choose to ship it to the manufacturer for warranty purposes. Often they are in Taiwan so shipping might actually be cheaper and faster than sending it back to Amazon.

Anyway, be careful, the cost to send stuff back can blow you away. I'd only buy things like Processors and cooling stuff from Amazon. The rest I get locally (where ever I'm living at that point of time; not always in SG)
