just bought 1 set(basic 500gb) from Book Off (2nd hand Store) @ 32000JPY(ard SGD380)

Brand new is ard 40000JPY before tax and now they have promo at Yodobashi Camera - extra 5% off if using overseas Visa card. (total will be ard SGD460 for this)

warranty only valid in Japan(my ps3 lasted me 4years without breaking so I'm ok without the warranty)
.
Need to buy step down converter as Japan set is 120V while SG is using 240V(for this, would recommend you to get 1 in Japan. I don't trust those Made in China ones sold here).

Actually.... all the PS4 is mutli-voltage, so meaning that you don't need to buy any down-step adaptor for use in Singapore. Just make sure you get the correct power cable or a travel adapter to connect to your PS4.

You might want to confirm with all the web reports such as:

Don't dare to take the risk though
I see the one sold in Changi departure, 240V is printed.

I see the one sold in Yodobashi Camera, 120V is printed. In Yodobashi, they even printed in English beside the sets "PS4 is region free. But no warranty outside Japan and check your country voltage".
im using a step down now at home just to be safe. working fine for the past 4days

Why get from Japan? If you got an old console to trade in, can get $100 off at suntec gamestart this weekend.

region locked games right?

cannot play non japanese games?

PS4 no region lock but based on my experience my PS4 disc tray start actin weird, refuse to accept disc and auto disc ejection in the mid of the game. This is hardware failure from my read up.

Jap console warranty only valid in Japan, not international warranty. If console spoilt LL

Are you using a Japanese PS4 in Singapore and this happened to your set? Maybe you have a lemon set?

No is local singapore set, just an experience. If you google is a common issue anywhere in the world, nothing is perfect. Jap set might be cheap but warranty really kill it

okay I understand. So it is a common fault in all PS4 sold in all markets. By buying from Japan, the warranty will become a problem if your set has this fault then. :(

Has the new CUH-1100 model solved this problelm?

hi guys, I'm currently in Japan now and thinking whether to get a PS4.

went to yodobashi and the counter says the console is 100V only, although from what I understand the console is supposed to be multi-voltage compatible?

has anyone bought back and plugged in without issues?

I am considering getting one too. I am sure it is multi-voltage. The only issue is warranty as you might be sway enough to get a lemon set...
