Buying used cameras

Hi guys, this is the first time I am buying a used camera from my EOS 1100D and I need some help.I got an offer for a FF XT2 with a XF 18-55mm f2.8-4 for $1090 and also another offer for the same including a XC 50-230mm lens for $1100. Which offer should I take and how do I go about checking the camera and lenses for defect. Need some advice ASAP. Thanks!

Practically same price for more lens. And since no mention about condition.. etc, of cos choose the more one. Not sure what you asking. If you are new or not regular with camera, i suggest to get new, better than risking buying spoiled.

Go with the 18-55mm, it’s a better quality zoom and is a fantastic ‘kit’ lens, unlike what other brands such as Nikon or Canon offer.

Typically check for external cosmetic damage, mould on the lens and camera sensor, and also ask for the shutter count. Like the other poster said, if you aren’t familiar with many of these, suggest to do your research and google first.

Also, the xt2 is not a full frame, it’s an apsc crop. Fuji’s next level camera is the medium format.

Anyway, you will be jumping ecosystems from Canon.... so I hope you are not too invested in Canon to begin with. 1100D is pretty much outdated today with only 720p video recording. 12MP photo shoots still OK for instagram.

XT2 is still quite a powerful and relevant camera today even though its newest iteration is the XT3.
As for checking for defects, basic on/off/button functions, check lens' glass condition, check auto focus works, LCD....

Shutter counter.
Scratches.
Camera body.
Sensor.
LCD screen.
Serial.
Auto-focus.
