Is it worth to get it from Amazon? I can see the price a lot cheaper.:s12::s12:
Anyone try before? Would you mind share your experience?

$218USD ~~ 305SGD

$180USD ~~ 252SGD
you forgot to include forwarding fee. and you lose warranty coverage locally if you buy from amazon. imo, better to buy mobo locally.

the shipping should be quite cheap as i can see some bro here helping peopel buying stuff from amazon with quite low shipping charge. So if consider I willing to take the warranty risk, it's quite worth.

Shipping charges will depend on how Amazon packs the stuff. Mobo boxes are quite big, so amazon boxes will be even bigger in which u will incur more charges.

If the board that you want can be found locally, do consider qoo10.

Amazon US site mobo doesn't ship to singapore. You need to ship to forwarder have them ship to you.

If the saving isn't a lot, just buy from local. Any issue, go to distro and rma. Rma might only took a while. If you ship back and wait, it can take a week or longer.

It might useful in future when upgrade the chip to K.
want to upgrade then do it right at the beginning

sell the non-k chip and buy K chip .... the difference in cost , effort to find buyer&seller
not worth the effort

still need to upgrade cooler

alternative is get cheap b150 motherboard with 6700k ... u get 4ghz base clock even if no overclock

Shipping would roughly be US$15-20 which si around $21-28. But u have to pray hard that there will not be any damages. Amazon will just put some air bags inside the package and CGW will not include additional protection.

Ok. Thanks for the info.

Presuming that techdeals is legit in the sense that you can self collect from their sls store at #04-17, You can consider the following.

ASUS Sabertooth Z170S

With the following, you can get it at $345.09 with self collection.

$10 item coupon from Mastercard. Collect on every wed from 12am.
$50 cart coupon. Wait for event, national day have a high chance.
Buy 3x Gift Cards to get 3% off which is $9.

Total would be $345.09. Can go lower with correct cc rebates which will be used to pay for the gift cards and balance.

Around $6x difference or lesser, depending on what cc u use. This $6x or so worth the 3 yrs local RMA? U decide.

Actually i don't opt OC for time being. I purposely buy the 6700 and the seller still double confirm with me his is non-k:D

6700 TDP only 65W, I might keep running my pc for 18hours per day, it will save some $$$ from the electricity bill:s13::s13:

I have observed this "intel" keep changing socket for every new generation, the good mobo is difficult to get after 2 new generations. That's reason wanted to get the good mobo now in the first build so future in case of changing mind.

on idle there isn't any difference
even if overclock ... can still do adaptive overclock , which will idle at stock voltage stock speed

lower tdp doesn't save power bill ...... if the task is that demanding to the cpu , then it will take higher usage % percentage or longer duration to complete
end up same consumption as faster chip
it is an artificial cap on thermal output for those very slim casing

only the older method of overclock using fixed manual voltage that apply throughout the range from idle to max load will cause noticeable higher idle power consumption (few dollars per year)
