I’m still torn between Tesla 110 cat A Y or byd sea lion cat B. Already prepped 200k to full down either.

waiting for DARREN YOONG review on the latest Tesla Y cat A before I pay the down payment as I am leaning towards Tesla Y 110 already

If u think software and brand are more important, go for tesla. If u think hardware is more important, go for byd.

Maybe if you like paying for subscriptions after you get your car you should get tesla?

from what I know chances of securing coe for savers is very very low. If really intending to get it, excite is the only way to go.
i tink no one gotten thru saver yet. can try asking in car forum

only in super special case when COE suddenly drop 20k then gt chance type

End of the day, you are the one driving the car not the reviewer. Know your own needs ,trust your instincts, test drive both before buying.

Cat-A cars' power( 147hp, model Y), can't match cat- B (308Hp) BYD Sea Lion, the power gap is too huge to compare with.

200k with no upgrade option versus 200k + 4k extra yearly running cost with great flexibility on cat-b model Y ..
Since going to spend at least 200K, why not perfect it.
Otherwise it is like buying a chicken without topping up to buy soy sauce/chilli .

I am curious why people would still consider to get Tesla when the brand and it's owner is ostracized by everyone in USA, Europe and even China. Can Tesla still survive as a company in the next couple years? I am surprise nobody has sued Tesla about its FSD vaporware in the US. It used to be a great company but the recent antics of Elon Musk has jeopardize the future of Tesla.

Here's a cost table (courtesy of chatgpt) of the 2 vehicles fyi. Can anyone verify if it looks right?

Big diff in OMV and a big margin for BYD but it could be that they suppress OMV value and Tesla puts a margin into the OMV from factory to sg distributor?

OMV$53,269$38,500
GST (on OMV + Duty)$5,757$4,161
ARF (Before Rebates)~$44,867~$39,300
ARF (After Rebates)$33,211$5,900
Total Import Cost (Pre-Rebate)~$103,893~$81,961
Total Import Cost (Post-Rebate)~$92,237~$48,561

Don't see much EV in Japan whilst I was there last week, still seeing slammed cars and modified ones outside of Tokyo... going to miss this.

I am more intrigued why some poeple think Tesla is ostracized by 'everyone'. It shows how these people is influenced by biased western media primarily out to sow political polarization.
