Is it possible to replace frayed cables from Apple?

Yes, Apple agreed to replace it so I went down to QCD giving them the case id from Apple. Got the replacement right away.

No time limit on when the cable was bought? More than a couple of my cables have started to fray but could be more than 2 years old.
