Calendar syncing

When I add an event on my mac, it syncs with my iphone.
However, when I delete the event on my mac, the event still stays on my iphone.
Don't know why this is happening.
Is there a way to manually refresh iphone calendar?
I'm using ios 8.1 and iphone 6.

Probably you can try by going to "Calendar" at the bottom centre tab of the Calendar app and then pull down to refresh.

I also feel that the iCloud refresh is a bit slow. I can edit reminders on either my iPad, iPhone or mac and the other 2 devices will takes some time to change.

Did you set it to Push, instead of Fetch or Manual? Well, mine will take around 1-3 mins to get it in sync.

Its Push and i thought that's for email.
