Yayyy. So happy with workout today.

Squats 100 x 5 x 5
DL 100 x 5 x 5
Bench 55 x 5 x 5

I think I still can benefit with SL since my upper body lifts are still so low.

Any idea when is a good gauge to graduate from SL?

you can check your strength standards here. Strength Standards

i will "graduate" from SL once i hit intermediate for all!

wouldn't say modified. changed bent over rows to yates rows. other than that, all is good.

hmm because its actually;

Squats
OHP
DL

&

Squats
Bench
Rows

seems like you switched OHP and bench? and DL is to be done 1x5, which you can really go heavy.

LOL. Then I'm guessing I did it wrongly. I switched it.

pop by the school gym just to accompany my friend.

realized that it has this hack squat machine i saw in dorian yate legs video, pretty cool.
and this hammer pull down machine that trains the lats from the pictures.

not really a workout, just practicing form.

60kg x 2 x 5 yates rows.
100kg x 1 x 5 squats
50kg x 1 x 5 BP

Can feel the lower lats pulling it now.
Gonna switch it up 60kg next training.

Side track,

ordered a lifting straps to help with the pulling exercises.

Squats 105 x 5 x 5
Rows 60 x 5 x 5 more on form, trying to pull inner towards waist, slightly 45degree
Deadlift 105 x 1 x 5

Have to say, I really wanna give up and just go 3x5 when doing squats. Really taxing. Nonetheless, persisted on. Bloody **** starts to get real hard after 100. Before that, motivation was to hit 100, now that I've reached, aiming for 2x bw, but seems so far.

Db incline chest press drop set from 16 to 10 x 3
Db 1h row drop set from 16-12 x 1

generally, one can deadlift more than one can squat! you may need to check on form, if there's anything pulling you back on deadlifts, or squat form perhaps?

cheers!

Yup, i could probably Deadlift more. But my grip is weak and I lose my grip before my legs/back give way. Waiting for my straps to come and test it out.

have you tried using a mixed grip?

i was quite obstinate on using the overhand grip but i realised no point letting my grip hold back my deadlift gains.

Your thumb will hurt. For weeks, maybe months. But after that it'll be fine.

For the first 3 weeks I felt like a boulder was crushing my thumbs. But once you get used to it, ho boy.
