I will be going Cambodia next month with some friends. Any recommendation on must try food or things to buy back? Also will be going to Angkor Wat. Should I hire a tour guide before going or there will be many options over there?

Thanks for any input! :)

Eat amok fish and lok lak. Tour guide can be arranged with your hotel or driver if you are engaging one by yourself.

Entrance fee for Angkor Wat is fixed, 1/3/7 day rate. A photo ID will be issued to you. This was the price i paid in 2012 for my temple tour

Day 1 : Small Circuit 10 USD
Day 2 : Banteay Srei, Kbal Spean, Beng Melea + Rolous Group 65 USD by car
Day 3 : Grand Circuit 10 USD
Tour guide: 25 USD/day

Please note that my driver's charges were pretty cheap. Current price should be more.

Cambodia in May

Hi I am going Cambodia this coming Wednesday too.
Was wondering if we can get hostel to stay there when we are there??
So far I have only booked accommodation for the first night and plan to travel to other places therefore we haven't book our place to stay. Would be going sihanoukville, Phnon Penh and Siem Reap for a total of 11 days. Is it too much or too little time in these three cities?

If you still have time before your trip, read this book and you may not even need a guide. The book explains the myth, legend and history and gives you a detailed guide on what to look out for and where to find them at each temple.

Amazon.com: Cambodia Revealed: The Temples of Angkor (Travel Guide) eBook: Approach Guides, David Raezer, Jennifer Raezer: Kindle Store

Food - I had amok fish all the time since every restaurant makes it a bit differently.

If you need a driver for Siem Reap let me know. The one I used in my December trip drives a Lexus SUV and it makes the ride out to Kbal Spean on washed out muddy roads much more bearable. Don't know if he's still driving it though. He speaks English pretty well.

Just to share, I try not to but anything from the kids coz they might think it's an easy way to make money and won't go to school. They will break your heart but well.........

http://www.giantibis.com/ This was the better bus around in 2012. Came with Wifi onboard, english speaking bus assistant, free biscuit and bottled water.

In PP, we paid USD15 for a tuk tuk to Killing Field and S21. Picked up at hotel, dropped off at central market. Driver was very nice to buy us face mask as the air was bad. We tipped him a few dollars.
