These are manfrotto/slik type clamps, very seldom sold separately.

Arca design is more common and widely used (since versatile).

I personally have used both and I find manfrotto quick release clams are stable and easy to use. The arca design one, I find myself aiming for it

Not saying the manfrotto ones aren't steady, but the arca ones have more to offer, being a 'standard' of sorts, various makers and plates are available eg - L plates, replacement foot plates.

As opposed to clamp designs, which can be rather limited, but still an option for video makers, arca has more flexibility IMHO.

Not to mention, any arca ballheads can easily take in the plate you have, without changing. Clamp styles are pretty hard to find an exact plate or have others using the same plates which can interchange with the clamp.

Just my 0.02c.

I do agree with ur statements. Indeed the arca ones where u need to tighten is indeed more versatile. Probably it is just me, I hardly find myself mounting anything besides my camera on my tripod usually. And really I can close my eyes and mount my camera on the manfrotto clamps, release and lock/unlock what using my peripheral vision :)
