Hi guys, I enlisted on Jan this year. I was from polytechnic and completed all my modules in September 2020 as I deferred one of the semester due to a serious injury.

I only need to serve 22 months as I passed my pre-enlistee IPPT. My ORD date would be Nov 2022.

My question is: My section mates are all JC and I know that they cant disrupt. But am i able to disrupt NS to attend University in August 2022?

Are you afraid of your commanders? If not shouldn't you be asking them that question? After all they are the ones who needs to help you with your application for disruption.

instead of guessing and what knots
no harm for u to ask your unit commanders?

because ultimately they will be the ones that can beef up / break support for any potential disruption of NS for studies

You will need to check with the relevant personnel in your camp, usually is the S1 (manpower) branch that handles this matters.

Disruption depends on factors such as which university you are attending, your poly cohort. Local public university tend to be given disruption
For poly cohort, if your poly classmate who enlisted earlier than you are able to commence their studies in 2022, you will be most likely granted disruption. This is to ensure fairness to those who were enlisted later.
However, since you extended 1 more semester, it may not be that straight forward because you may be categorize separately since you graduated later

From what I know, your commander does not have any say in your disruption.
When I applied for disruption in 2013, I just went to my S1 branch and ask the ASA about the procedure. I submitted my application with the relevant supporting document. I didn't even notify my commanders that I was applying for disruption

I was eventually granted 1 month of disruption, there were some who disrupted for 4 months.

By the way your rank does not really matter in the application for uni disruption. I was a CPL and was granted disruption but a LTA disruption application was rejected because his university was not recognized. He tried to appeal by getting his commander to endorse & support his application but was still rejected.

A bit early to tell. You got your unit yet? Once in your unit go ask your S3 or commanders. Most will allow deferment..

I’m afraid they may not approve your disruption. I’m about in the same situation as you and my enlistment was delayed due to Medical issue which they deem as “personal issue”. They rejected my application and say they will only grant me disruption based on my enlistment cohort instead of my MOE school cohort which is quite ridiculous. I’m from poly and my enlistment cohort are A level/IB cohort

Not sure about the current practice but back when I was in NS one of my batchmates (from Poly, I'm from JC) managed to disrupt his NS to enrol in Uni even though we were from the same enlistment batch.
