dont have to be cheapest but hopefully more value for money.

siao, all these high end boards are way too overpriced for what theyre worth.
anyway @ts, never seen any board oem offer longer than 3 years of warranty in recent years. and ive not heard of any am4 boards not supporting m.2 slots. if u want the most complete mobo i can suggest is msi's b550m mortar wifi or b550 gaming edge wifi. then again, u could just get any regular b550 board and slap on a pcie wifi 6 card, not like ur gonna find other uses for the pcie x1 slot anyway.

I probably wouldn't go for X570 board unless you have multiple devices that requires PCIe 4.0 like fast storage for professional video editing etc. It often cost more $ and you have to deal on the chipset fan present in most X570 and those fan can get pretty loud.

For B550, I would lend towards MSI B550 gaming edge wifi and ASUS B550-F gaming. These two have decent VRMs setup and fits your requirements. The two boards are similar and the differences between those two that I can tell is that the MSI is reported to have better memory support, 8 total fan/pump headers and one more 5v ARGB header while the ASUS have better an intel 2.5GbE as compared to MSI's realtek 2.5GbE, 2 more rear USB3.0 type A and a Thunderbolt header.

FYI, not all B550 and X570 will have native support for ryzen 5000 series so have to double check with seller.

You are correct I noticed TS is not a newbie in hwz forum, he probably have seems tons of comment on Ryzen upgrade option but still wondering if better options available as I see his pc specification was almost 10 years ago, quality components was his consideration.

TUF Gaming series: 3Years*1
TUF series: 5Years*1
Tinker Board: 1~2Years*1

Remarks:
All ASUS motherboard purchased after November 1st, 1999 will carry 3 year warranty services. ASUS product warranty is based on the serial number printed.

Note: Warranty void for user removing serial number sticker on the motherboard.

Once you handled high end motherboard in the setup it's very difficult to downgrade and settled down to next level mid range motherboard?

I have been using Asus Hero from Intel to now Ryzen Crosshair Hero due to its quality components and stability in power delivery during OC cpu and gpu.

Both of my hero motherboard from Amazon price range $S300 ~ S$400.

the tomahawk is basically the full atx version of the mortar, which is matx. there isnt a wifi version of the tomahawk though.

imo, don't get the b550 tomahawk unless u really want 2 ethernet port..

for that price, you can get the b550m mortar wifi. or else u just top up a bit more u can get x570 tomahawk wifi.

but this mortar and tomahawk is same in price using pctheme pricelist? 1ethernet port is good enough for me and i dun need wifi... in this case any recommendation? plan to pair it with 5600x and 6800xt when in stock.

ya. around $300 for b550 is pushing the limit already.. very close to the price of decent x570 boards. i would just rather get those x570 already.

but vrm cooling doesnt matter as much if you using 5600x right?

vrm cooling i suppose is for overclocking purpose is it? i dun really plan to overclock too.. in this case, any recommendation? initially i thought of getting the basic motherboard asrock pro 4 or asrock steel legend, but read in the other thread that should get MSI boards instead as they are of higher tier...
