Can Our company laptop work/internet usage tracked by company IT Team and report to higher level as part of their protocol ??

yes can easily be done.

if u in office network, everywhere u surf can easily be traced back to u.

even at home, some companies can silently track u. our company laptops have many stuff installed inside running unaware to us. there are even softwares can track u work how many hours in word, email, how many idle hours.

of cos this is only for big companies, small companies either cant effort or dont have the capability to do such.

Depends on the network & softwares that are installed by the company IT team within/without our acknowledgement........

Please share with us the security software, office VPN and firewall that your IT department installed on your office notebook for the IT and cyber security experts to advise properly.
You can click on the up arrow at the extreme right of the task bar and do a screen-grab first and post the screen-grab of the software that are running in the background for the Cyber security experts here to evaluate.
Typically, if you are connected to your company’s VPN, the VPN gateway and portal will capture all your internet activities if your company VPN routes all internet traffic through the VPN tunnel and out of the company’s internet routers.
If you disconnect from Company VPN to do your personal web browsing, then you will be tracked by cloud-based cyber security tools installed on your computer like Carbon Black, SentinelOne, Mandiant FireEye or even Sophos and TrendMicro.
Most of the time, you can’t disable these tools without local admin access or a token that can only be retrieved or generated by the Cyber-Security admin.

It starts off with the attitude toward equipment issued to one that is not owned by oneself. It is really your property. Be it laptop, mobile phone or anything else. Personally I try to keep my personal life out of my company issued equipment as much as possible. When traveling overseas I usually bring my own laptop back in the days before tablet become mainstream. Changed to tablet thereafter. I do most of my personal stuff on my own device. Even to the point of not connecting my own device to the company wi-fi even though it is possible.

There were time in the past where I used one mobile phone with two sim card because I am lazy to carry two phones. Recent years the security has been tighter and we must download app that basically give permission to my company to wipe out my personal phone. Since then I use two phones now.

Maybe I am used to it because I was a freelance IT worker for 10 years. I am issued with client equipment whenever I am on the project. No point installing my own stuff since it is a short-term engagement. That is why I have my own device to fulfil my personal needs. Even though I am no longer travelling and have been working for my current employer for several year, I tend to keep to the same behavior on how I view company issued asset.
