How would you feel if you bought something because a freebie was thrown into the deal. But after the sale, the company cancelled the freebie?
Well it happened to me, and the company is singtel.
One of the reasons i renewed my fibre broadband plan in Nov 2015 was the offer of a free 30GB data mobile broadband.
Now into the 4th month of my 24 months contract, singtel informed me the 30GB data bundle is going to phase out and I've to pay for a lower data mobile broadband (cheapest was $9.95 for 2GB per mth). Imagine have to pay for something that was promised free (& lesser too).
As singtel renege on its contract offer, i would like to terminate my fibre broadband contract (which i renewed partly due to the free data bundle).
But singtel says i've to pay a penalty for breaking contract.
Is it fair and ethical for singtel to break its contract offer but the customer is penalized for breaking contract?
i'm disappointed a large telco like singtel can renege its contract offer.
What do you think???
