lets say you receive a cheque for 2k and you got 2 savings accounts with the bank.

when depositing the cheque...

can u request the bank divide the 2k into half and deposit 1k into each of your 2 savings accounts?

No, this cannot be done at the depositing bank level. Doing so would be breaking the condition of the instrument that requires the full amount to be paid, in your case deposited into your account.

Cheques cannot be split.

Deposit cheque into one account, and wait for the cheque to clear the next working day 2pm.

After cheque is cleared, to transfer some money into your 2nd acct,
u can either use online banking to transfer, atm to transfer, or go to branch and ask teller to transfer.

Write your 2 account number at the back of the cheque, indicating the amount for each account.
