No matter what brand , inside part are all same as diy pc . The diff is diy is much cheaper alot . U just need to know 1 simple thing = If u wanna play AAA title games like gta5 , nfs , crysis etc , u better have a i5 4460 onward , gpu at least a r9-280x type of power onward to play smoothly . These alienware / asus brands are just a ''brands''

Whats the difference in gpu no? 270x and 290x eg. Is it that one outperform this? I reuse my old i5 650. Change psu and gpu. I change to r9 270x oc sapphire vapor x. Add 2gb ram extra. I just play med-high setting on bfbc2,bf3 and 4, codmw,1,2,3bo,bo2,bo3,aw,ghost. Any latest fps that comes out. Or latest games.

Btw there are few well known pcs, dell, acer,hp, and asus. Price of nearly 2k or 1.5k. Capable of playing graphical demanding games on high-ultra?

290x and 270x are hell of a big diff , go google search 270x vs 290x

It is an expensive PC so should have considerable performance. Why is it crappy?

Computer parts is quite random , for example a $5 Bluetooth can work instead of buying a $30 one. Or a $150 sound card performance more chui than a free onboard sound chip . must know how to chose

i3 chip and i7 chip got different? 1 number change only mah. :s13:
iPhone 5 and iPhone 6 got different? 1 number change only mah. :s13:

If no different, u wouldnt need to pay extra S$250 for r9 290x versus r9 270x. And extra S$600 apart at their launch periods.

They are mainly equip with lower tier cards, althou the trend had changed slightly. Still with 2k u can easily diy a pc that gives u twice the performance in gaming as compare to those branded pc

Yes $1.3K-1.5K will land you something that maxes out most games on Full HD, complete with Windows.

Then again, all you need to upgrade is CPU to Core i5-750/760, GPU and PSU, and also add in a SSD, all tally to about $770.

e.g. 2nd hand Core i5-750 @ ~$70, GTX 970 @ ~$490, 500W 80 Plus Gold PSU @ ~$90, 256GB SSD @ ~$120
