Cannot decide which type of HDD

My current 3.5" 2TB HDD is failing, started to show slowness.

Thinking of replacing it with another SATA 3.5" or a USB3.0 2.5"

But worry USB HDD will fail easy and lose my data.

*just to store movies and dramas.

If need portability, USB3.0 2.5"
If just leave inside rig then get 3.5"
If only need to remove it sometimes, then 3.5" + Sata-USB cable

Both type also can fail what... as long as you have only one copy, you can't run away from that worry.

If worried about losing data, you have to get x2 drives and mirror the data for backup. One fail still got one spare.

if you know how to upgrade pc, can get internal hdd for easy storage. External more for portability, and having an additional device connected can be a hassle/clutter for some. Imagine all the usb devices kb/mouse/headphones and now the HDD, theres no much usb ports left for other usage. So there are a couple factors to consider, rather than the actual data loss since single backup will always have data loss risk.
