Cannot recognise NVMe M.2 ssd

Hello,

To recognize NVMe M2 SSD as a data disk,
must your main Boot disk be Uefi/GPT config ?

I install the NVMe M2 SSD (via PCIE adapter) on my Z68 system,
But the disk is not in the Device Manager.
Using Win7 (Bios+MBR) with NVMe driver installed.

So far all the info i google are talking about NVMe as boot disk,
not as a data disk.

GIGABYTE Z68? I think for motherboard to support NVMe, first the BIOSmust support it. Also the PCIe should be at least at version 3.0 or higher.

Bro,

Some M2 slot also base on PCIE Gen2 (run on Gen2 speed).
Not sure if OS must boot up as Uefi to recognize Nvme ssd.

Can play with different PCIE speed in the Bios, if default is Auto.
If still not recognise, mostly the adaptor card chipset issue.

Was thinking to re-install my OS in Uefi to try out.
Save my time.

Have to wait for 4000 APU then.

Eg. For Gigabyte z68 board. Is mention in specification that it support MSATA.

That's M.2 (NGFF) SATA interface, or you can also use MSATA on older PCIe slot. If Bios cannot see the drive, then is nothing to do with OS.
