Cannot send email out using Hotmail

Hi there,

I am using iPhone 6s on IOS Ver 9.2.1

I have been using Hotmail on my iPhones to send emails out and receiving emails without problem.

Then recently, I changed my password & updated the new password.

After that, I cannot send emails out. I keep getting message that the password is incorrect. But funny thing is I can receive emails without problem. If my password is wrong, how can I receive emails ?

I noticed in the email settings, there is a place for you to key-in the password under INCOMING SERVER but there is no place to type in the password for OUTGOING SERVER.

Any ideas where I went wrong ? Or any tips to solve this problem ?

Maybe you can try to delete the excising hotmail account in your iPhone . After that get a "app passwords" from Microsoft, and then create a new hotmail account in your iPhone . Use the "app passwords" instead of your own password .

You can search " Hotmail App passwords and two-step verification" from Google .

I finally solved it by updating my iOS to the latest. Now I have some tabs which eventually leads to a password being typed in for the Outgoing mail server.
