Canon makes very well spec-ed camera bodies at reasonable prices.
However they did not open up their full frame AF lenses format to 3rd party makers, so you r limited to Canon only native lenses if you want autofocusing, and Canon lenses tend to be pricier ( even vs equivalent Sony lenses )
Sony opened up their formats to 3rd party lens manufacturers, so especially if one is on a budget, there is a slew of autofocusing options to choose from. E.g there is a dizzying number of 35mm prime lenses for Sony E mount.
However if you are not particularly budget restrained and prefer native lenses anyway then the above is a non issue. Canon has some very interesting telephoto zoom lenses and they have more unconventional lenses vs more conservative Sony native lineup.
Have to also check warranty coverage TnC if camera is not purchased from Sg.
