Hi all

I would like to seek your opinion on this. My current Iphone is dying (Iphone 7) so I have no choice but to get a new phone.

Any suggestions and inputs from the experts here?

Thanks everyone!

I don’t think there’s much contest here actually. If you can afford the iPhone 12, just go for it, much better screen, better video camera due to Dolby Vision, will get at least one year more iOS support, and since you probably keep your phone for a long time, having 5G capability will definitely be a plus when 5G is more readily available islandwide in 2 to 3 years time.

5G should never be an option for you to consider your phone now.

Between 11 and 12, just go for the 12.

If you don't mind splurging, go for the latest gen, if not the previous gen is also ok

Ideally always original, but if expensive, can get those 3rd party kind, but should always try to get MFI. you don't want to mess with anything that is to do with power/electricity

If you are going to use it for long-term, always get the latest one.

Seeing that you are jumping from a much older phone, I would suggest just jumping for the newest one. I was in the same boat, coming from 6s+, dun follow the 2 year upgrade cycle since the phone is working well. Only now it freezes alot, hangs when opening apps, and battery cannot last a day even after replacement. I made the leap for the pro max 12.

Faster processor, better cameras, i think higher ram, I don’t care about 5G but it’s there for future proofing. Also another extra year of OS support and if ever you need to sell or trade in, the newer one will retain slightly higher value. Magsafe might offer interesting future accessories which u may like.

I still miss touchid as it is very inconvenient during covid mask mandate so need to key passcode is like a step backwards. I also still prefer wired earphones.

In my opinion of cos the 12 series but if you are a decent users and not intend to spend much then iPhone 11 is still a good deal

Always get the latest one if possible, unless cost is of utmost importance.
