Can't even touch "high" setting in CRYSIS 3

This is seriously crap. Just finished installing CRYSIS 3, happily adjust all settings to "Very High" with anti aliasing to MSAA High (8x), something to my horror surfaced. I couldn't even off my fkin weapon, there was this HUGE LAG. I decided to turn off the anti aliasing with the setting remained at "very high". It is way way better but can still feel the lag. Only when I changed the settings to "Low", then I am able to feel COMPLETELY smooth. As for "medium", I think i'm lucky enough to just even feel a 15% lag. Ok, my "Gaming Rig" from 2010 is as follows:

FML. with the claimed best graphic card of all time (back then), now can barely catch up to the system requirements for games like CRYSIS 3. Any pro here care to share whether the LAG i feel is due to my "old, out-dated specs" or its normal because we are after all facing CRYSIS 3? Was thinking, perhaps using the same $2.7k could bought me a godly rig as of currently, but too bad. Thanks.

not a pro here but i think its like using ipod touch 3rd gen to play all the latest games in the itunes store.

upgrade your graphics card to a titan or something. Crysis 3 is really hard core from what i've heard

i think only crysis 3 need such good performance graphics card.. if you try games like far cry or battlefield 3.. i think your graphics card can still work.

You said it yourself.. Best gfx card at that time. Technology advances so quickly that the rest becomes obsolete so fast.

Moreover, Crysis 3 is a gfx killer with an engine ahead of its time.

If I had a Lamborghini Diablo, it still wouldn't stand a chance against an Aventador now. You get the idea.

Too bad Crysis 3 is not worth upgrading for. Not a very good game, and multiplayer is not fun.

disable any AA will do lor.... 3 years ago rig, cannot expect everything high lor... if not just change to current higher end GFX

My GTX 460 can handle max setting without AA avg around 20fps.

with the amount TS spent on his rig, can spend on a mid-top level using half the amount then and then use the other remaining $ to upgrade now & still be able to play the games he want smoothly then & now.

No, you cannot run at full settings with 8x MSAA. The game will lag badly. 5970 performs like a 7850 today (estimation). Even 7970 cannot run at 8x MSAA w/o lagging.
