guys is thinkware a good brand for dashcam?
Thinkware is quite good.

I recently just changed to 70Mai A800s due to cost. 70mai recently released a 360 dashcam called Omni, you can read up and consider too.

thanks. cos a few friends have recommended thinkware. one of the main reason given is that its one of the most energy efficient cams around. and it supports a separate accessory where the parking mode could last for a few days if the car isn't driven or something. all without draining the aux battery.

yes, i saw the video of the omni. sadly it doesnt have rear cam. or may be i missed it out.

A separate accessory should be an external battery pack.

The Omni is a 360 cam. Maybe this is why it does not have a rear cam.
I am not able to find any info on the rear recording while on the move. I guessing the 360 cam is likely more applicable for monitoring when the car is parked.

Thinkware, Blackvue (used on previous rides) Iroad X10(currently using)
So far all good for me. There was a slight problem on x10, auto shut down and restart . Send in for checks, no reoccurrence so far.

The voltage can be set on the cam to prevent draining the battery.

Yeah, Omni seems good. But I am still trying to find out this dashcam monitor and record the rear while on the move.

e.g. by the the time the rear car collide, the dash cam got "radar" sensor to swirl to the back (i.e. 5 secs) prior to impact?

This is the thing I am comtemplating. haha.

i think u are right, i heard something about a extra battery pack, which is like a power bank or something. cant really recall. the whole set cost about 600 i think.

yes, i couldnt find any info on whether omni 360 supports a rear cam. if it does, i dont mind trying it out cos it's 300+$ iirc. thanks.

Used blackvue years ago , then broke down , now using Thinkware.

Thinkware is very picky with their microsd, either u buy the really expensive Thinkware cards, or google for the few compatible cards.
