Been reading up on job prospects and the very recent and growing demand for cyber security / programmers. Along with the global trend of artificial intelligence /automation, will jobs in software engineering continue to increase And would the growing demand cause students from non-programming backgrounds to seek a software engineering degree?

it's a trend for the last 5 years, and will be one for the next 10. Even comparing salary wise, software engineers are currently earning as much as doctors, slightly behind lawyers

Doctors in Singapore are grossly underpaid, especially if they are junior doctors or working in public hospitals. The pay of a fresh medical graduate would hovering around 4 thousand, reaching 5 thousand after you finish your housemanship and become a MO/resident, and then from there it slowly climbs by a few hundred a year. If you manage to reach the rank of a registrar, your pay would be roughly 7-9 thousand. After you finish your exits and become an A.C, you would be paid roughly around 150k a year, which rises to around 200k as a consultant and 300k as a senior consultant. But currently we have having an oversaturation of doctors in Singapore (yes, it is actually happening) due to the increase in the number of medical students in local medical schools and an influx of foreign-trained singaporean doctors. It is extremely hard to specialise and climb the ladder, even family medicine (seen as a last resort for the longest time by everyone else) is now a medical speciality which junior doctors have to compete for.
Not too sure about law, but based on the news about the glut in law graduates and the high attrition rates of lawyers in the 10 years after law school, the life of a lawyer seems pretty bleak too :/

But the thing is only a small pool of IT professionals are hire by government. Either public sector like IDA prefer to hire foreigners or majorly of works are outsource to companies in private sector like NCS.
Yup, outsourced personnels' skills may be better than locals, and they are more experienced. Also cheaper in terms of labour, hence they are more attractive than local graduates. So quite competitive in this industry. But not sure why the rising IGP for computing courses since it is so competitive with foreigners?
Actually there is no fixed salary, these three are equally good. Really depends on your work performance, appetite for bigger opportunities, as well as some luck probably.

There are so many different fields in Cybersecurity, this would be difficult to answer. It ranges from pen testing to compliance and everything else in the middle.
In my opinion, the demand for CS (security) jobs will continue to surge forward as we move into a digital world, comprising of smart devices, vehicles etc. Jobs are generally stable in terms of income, employment and job security because of the lack of foreigners fighting for your spot.
However, CS and IT are seen as massive cost-center since their impact on a business is hard to measure. If you are in it for the money, don't expect to become rich unless you are in a profit-center or in sales. Also, look at what happened to life science graduates when the goverment hyped it up.

by then you already have enough knowledge and experience,more than all the newcommers. and oversupply only occurs if secondary school,jc starts offering computing courses... now it's all math,sciences and language
