Hi All,

I'm looking to get some new case fans, currently I have:

Casing: N200 (mAtx)
Front: CM Sickleflow 120 x 2 (intake)
Side: CM Xtraflo 120 (intake)
Back: CM Xtraflo 120 (exhaust)
Top: CM Standard 140 (exhaust)

I play graphic intensive games on high-ultra. Thus I feel that the current fans are

1)not good enough - my gfx at idle 35-44°C, at peak up to 70°C. I can feel the hot air as the pc is placed on the desk

2)Noisy! the front intake sickleflows can be heard 2-3m away at night. Any quiet and efficient fan recommendations for intake? I also realised the noise may be due to the meshed front casing design.

3)Lastly should my side fan be intake or exhaust? its directly beside my gfx which exhaust out hot air. currently a positive pressure config.

Anyone using aerocool shark fans? the rubber rivets really entices me, the manual screws really killing me when I bought all these fans.

Regards, and thank you.

1) CM Fans are never quiet.

2) Your temps of the card is very normal already. How low you want it to be? Below ambient? Take note and consideration of SG weather at day around 34-38deg. Your card gives out 44deg is way normal already.

On load 70deg is even too good. How low you want it to be? Below drinking water temps? If you are still paranoid by the heat, go full custom water cooling instead.

The heat output from the back of the chassis is very normal. It is to draw out the heat by your components produced.

Mini atx casing is notoriously famous for killing air flow inside. That's why your rig temp are high. But it is normal. If you stsy iceland, your rig will suffer coldbugs.

With proper planning and good cable management, it can be avoided.

I'm using Aerocool Shark 12cm Green. High airflow, silent also. Good for intake fan. Just that sometimes the LED is a bit too overpowering.

If you want the quietest fan, must be willing to pay a premium for 6-yr warranty and vomit colour fan

Maybe I under quoted the temps, after a alt-tab from BF4, it reaches up to 80°C. The hot air's hitting me while playing games, can be really uncomfortable. My pc is on the table, right beside my monitor.

Actually is there any shops doing custom water cooling? or any local sites/places where I can get the parts like gpu waterblocks etc? Curious for future rigs.

Haha yes I gotten 2 of them, ugly but awesome.

I actually wanted to get them initially, but realised SLS seem to sell only the LED ones. In the end I went for the premiums, Noctua NF-P12 fans, expensive as hell but stealthy in action.

Agreed, did some cable management, all to and via the side panel. Gfx is now 33-34°C in idle.

State the card that you are using. Even at 80deg it is normal temps already.

playing bf4, close case highest 69deg, open case highest 55deg
for me, i do not mind the fan noise, had 2 delta fan slot in between 2 radiators.

Thanks guys for all the input. I gotten myself 3 Noctua fans, should be able to lower at least 5°C for now and dead silent.

And I have seriously looked into custom watercooling. maybe next trip to HK, I shall cross over to Shenzhen/Guangzhou and source for cheaper alternatives directly! :s13:
