Case fans

Hi Bros! I would like to seek your humble advice. I just changed my Case Fans to Noctua Industrial Fans. The fans are connected to the CHA_Fans and 2 of them are connected to the OPT_Fans. I know for the OPT_Fans, I can't control the fans in Asus Fan Xpert 2. But I can semi control it in the BIOS. As for the CHA_Fans, I can control but can't control fully as the Fans minimum rpm is 800rpm (around 44%). I was wondering how do I set it lower? All the noctua fans are PWM. As for the CPU fan, it can go lower than 800rpm.

If I am not wrong, CHA_Fans and OPT_Fans are 3 pins connector and not the 4 pins full PWM control mechanism like the CPU_Fan which is control by PWM frequency via pin 4 at constant VCC 12volts. This PWM frequency (14K) can go as low as 2 figure frequency (not all depends on the fan circuit).

For 3 pins connector connected with a 4 pins fan, you are doing VCC duty cycle to control the fan speed. Under this mode, BLDC fans are not designed to work below 4.8V, anything below this threshold will result in fan stall.

Thanks man. Currently Mobo is Formula IV. Already tried to play around with the settings but the lowest speed that my CHA_Fan can go is 800rpm. I want it to go lower but in the Asus Fan Xpert, it can't let me go lower than 40%. Running at 800rpm is a bit noisy. Is there any ways to make it go lower?

from wat i read (but not in detail), in the older series the asus cha_fan 4pin headers likely not true pwm - instead its using voltage control
and with voltage control, the min fan rpm doesn't go as low as with pwm mode

to add to confusion, there may be misprinted info the manual, incl for my own m8 hero manual (shows "fake" pwm, when it shud be true pwm)
