Still stuck with this setup with minor upgrades since I last posted.

Seems like I may have a PSU 12v rail issue or overheating problem coming up. As long as the PC is kept on, used or unused, after a day or 2, sometimes less than 24hours, it will go into constant rebooting mode. So long as I off it and then turn it back on after resting it for a while, It is good to go on for many hours more. Other possibilities could be cooling radiator issue or cpu overheating or need to redo thermal paste? doubt so. Yet to test using hWmoniter or hwinfo.

However I am looking at a Case + PSU upgrade, with a possible SSD next scale upgrade and a gpu upgrade next.

A full tower case maybe and probably at least a 850w psu. Planning to change to a 980ti maybe so I will need a 850 ya? Else I will go for any 970 gaming gpu offering me 3DP slots. Case and PSU needs to last me for the next 2-3 years. Need awesome cable management. My current case cable management like sucks...and seem too small for me.

Jonsbo UMX4 Black Window looks good? What others are there that you guys like. What is best value 850w plat psu now?

Any suggestions?

meh seems lesser posts from folks in the forums now.

thinking of a Palit Gtx 970 Jetstream or another asus 970. at least it is within budget. not sure if a 980 is worth paying almost 2 times more for as i not heavy gamer.

still prefer to get a 850 and above psu

and a case with good cable management and nice window

PSU 850w is totally overkill for a single GPU option.

Especially the GTX970 will not pull more than 250w with overclocking. Unless it is made of custom PCB, and meant for crazy overclocking.

Go for a regular 650w will do.

For case it is really personal preference. You should go down and take a look.

ok means a 750 can do, since i am on 650 now.. i think i would like something better at least 100-200w more in case for future upgrades.

A 600-650w psu is more than enough for any single gpu in the market... No point getting 750w as it wun make ur games better in any ways possible.

If u r going for dual gpu, then at least a 850w to play safe.

what's the best value nano/fury option now?
so a 750w will suffice for single gpu even if i have a future upgrade to a 980 and above?

I think PCT selling sapphire fury at $829? Convergent selling it at $838 but at least use shopback and/or cc rebates to bring it lower. Wait for it to be restock as it is currently OOS.

Fury/Nano is a better value/performance. Cause 980 is really neither here nor there pricing. Plus its performance is slightly below the Fury or Nano.

750w is still way overkill.

Look at how current GPUs are taking in power.

Noticed something? Only the 980ti and Fury X which is a top tier card will take in a mere 350-375w max.

If you are taking the 970 or the Nano all of it doesnt really consumed that much. Especially the Nano that takes only 170w range.

Don't think my gaming needs will make me go dual gpu but who knows
(if i decide not to go fury then i will get a 970 but I may add another 970 which should cost me more than 900 if I were to try a used one for the second one. BUT how is it performance wise, 2 x 970s vs 1 fury)
in anycase I am considering Leadex Platinum 750W / Leadex Platinum 850W
who in sls sells these and anyone knows the prices

How much would one need for 2 x 970s
and 2 furys? the psu will need to cater for upgrades. I never know if I will siao siao hoot one more gpu to try lol

No need to go till that extent. Is either you want a dual gpu or you want a single gpu option. If you want a dual GPU option, your board has to be a Z77/Z87/Z97/Z170 SLI Certified board. If you do not have one, and do not intend to change the board, then you are better of buying 650w will do.

No need to go down to check the pricing. There is a price list above you can take a look.

Using a z87 now and still serving well, so no issues here
I am going for a single gpu with possibility of sli or crossfire in the next few months, hence case and psu gotta at least plan for such an option

i did download the price lists but seems like no superflower ones... i did msg one bro to ask for his pricing

At this stage, I don't recommend spending too much on GPU since most will be anticipating for the next gen graphics to be out. The amount of money you pay for say a GTX 980 will depreciate by half by the 2nd or 3rd quarter this year. :o

There is pc themes, cybermind all those.

Its up to you entirely. If your resolution of the screen is just 1080p. Its also great overkill to put 2 gpus in it.

Unless you want to game at a higher resolution.
