What do you think should be the total cash amount to be kept liquid in banks?

The rest to be invested or used for other purposes.

1.5 as expenses quite low bro, in a month how many times do you go out?

your expenses depends on whether you are living with parents and whether you are supporting them.

got some earning $8k a month only give $100 a month to parents :s13:

S$95K — not the relevant number! (argh!) — happens to be less than one year of income for the median working resident household in Singapore (Singstat, 2019), and that’s not even counting employer contributions to CPF.

I eat out at restaurants weekly (mid tier places like Aston’s, Sushi Teh, Swensens - not the high SES stuff). Most of my expenses are on food. I don’t like travelling and I don’t like shopping/clubbing. I bought only 1 top this year and I’ve been wearing my shoes and carrying the same bag for 2 years. No car, take MRT. No alcohol no cigarettes. And I’m a sis :)

very rare

I keep like over 50% of my net worth in cash. But I did kind of cashed out a lot this year after taking profits these two months.

Happy to just let it sit as cash while I still have 2-3 main positions waiting to play out over the next few years and also using for some st trades when opportunity arises.

Yes cash in savings account

Even if you are super conservative and don't want anything to do with the stock market, can consider keeping the 'tail end' of the 30k in FD. At least your money will work a little harder.

I think this is fine because this amount is meant to exclude amounts related to investments.
