Hi Guys,

Anyone any idea, how much dose it cost to change catalytic converter? I was quote SDG1100+++.

After few round of diagnosis and have my fuel filter and O2 sensor changed, the P2096 code appeared again, my workshop told me its catalytic converter issue.

You may want to try scrapyards for 2nd hand ones.
Catalytic convertors are that expensive.

And the next thing is to allow straight through exhaust systems, or just replace the cat with a straight pipe. Use lesser material, save the environment.

Will only open a can of worms and illegal modifications will go out of hand.

i dont see whats so illegal about all this in sg. they say it affects emissions.

BUT,

even EU with stricter emissions requirements allow it.

so does japan.

so does USA

Enforcers are Human with only Human capabilities - no Laser eyes to cut open metal.. No X-ray vision to see inside a metal casing....they are not "kitty pryde" cannot bend lower than the FLOOR or phase their head into your car....

No super strength that can pick up your car.... ^^

Not inspector Gadget or lego-man to dismantle your car then fix together again...

Hint ^^

Emissions is actually BS, just a smoke screen. If really so concerned about emissions, then diesel cars will not have special diesel road tax.

Their main concern is on the enforcement, it will be difficult once a precedence is set. There are so many cars on the roads, if they allow this, then every other car happy happy go change and it will be an enforcement nightmare to detect if any illegal mods are done on the parts.

No use to argue other country do what or allow what. I went through the hard way of changing 3 exhaust mufflers cos 1st one was not original (fail), 2nd one was original manufacturer part but for a different variant (fail), 3rd one I had to DHL from UK for the exact one and get a pass.
And all 3 exhausts are stock mufflers with no noise.

Not OEM, is original Fiat exhaust with the embossed logo on it. The same logo appears on the rest of the mid-pipe, extractors etc.
They fail cos the muffler was for Bravo T-jet and not for Bravo NA, telling me the rear outlet pipe was in a different place for T-jet and NA. Although the whole exhaust fitted exactly without any mods or welding required.

I didn't know there was difference to the 2 exhaust as my mechanic fitted it easily without any need to mod anything. Until the inspection centre showed me the photo database on their PC.
