CC debt

How can I help my younger bro in CC debt ?
I don have the financial ability cos he earns more than me as is a fuxking regular

Since I am 12 yrs his senior the best i can do is to confiscate his card and restrict his moment.

I don understand why he got like 5 card from citibank since all is under the same limit.

So he max out 3 cards as far as i known as of now close to 20k. After i request all his banks letter to be mail to home. I still found out he is still spending money from

Later i going to drag him to post office and request for a credit bureau report.

Other than credit counseling SG, what is other best way to clear this debt?

I read that is better to pay the one with higher interest?
or is it better to pay the one with lowest amount own. And then take a credit transfer to pay the other 2

but remember dont be so harsh. talk nicely.. because although u are doing for his own good, sometimes they not mature enough to appreciate your kind thoughts (till it is too late)

talk nicely and ask what he wants the ending be like
ask him what he wants, ask him how he wants u to help.

if u just help, he wont appreciate and may even see it as a get-out-of-jail card.
if he tell u wat he wants and how he wants it, thats different coz its his request...

My 0.5 cents worth,

1. try to apply for credit transfer (usually at lower interest for a period of time) to another bank's CC; if cant, pay the one with the highest amount.

2. Terminate his existing cards that are not maxed out

3. Call the credit council for assistance to liaise with crediting bank for repayment amount and schedule.

4. Warn him that he will have difficulties keeping his job and will be under the MSD(Mindef Security Department) attention for having a credit card outstanding more than 3x of his pay !

5. Get him to surrender his cards and give u at least $400 per mth physically in cash, and you will pay it off for him.

just a suggestion, use those short term money line 4x salary credit @ low interest type 3-4% (effective interest i think) to clear the higher debt.

The restricting part is really education and discipline from u and ur younger bro liao.

Get his credit score, if it's bad enough, he won't get any cc approved.

Have you tried calling Credit Counselling Singapore Society?
They should be able to tell you whether it's possible to stop banks from issuing CC to your brother or even make blacklist/ban him.
