Anyone can share the difference between hugger fans and the normal rod type? Some salespeople tell me the hugger type has less wind and may have more noise - is there any truth to that? Others say the hugger type more suitable for low ceilings... Now I am nowhere closer to deciding. Currently looking at the mid-tier aero air or Alaska models.

Was looking at hugger and the max Led light is 24watt, any chance that can change it to 36watt, either DIY or by the shop ? Does Fanco or Bestar limit the watt, and allow only max 24watt, thanks

Hi. I just bought a Decco ceiling fan with a 24w tritone dimmable LED. Is it possible to buy an off brand 36w LED panel and replace the current one? The 24w one is a not as bbright as I anticipated. Anyone tried before?

I am using Efenz in both my bedroom and living room. Design wise I wanted a "hugger" look as these look sleeker when they conceal the pole. Motor is pretty much silent, and the reverse mode itself is good enough that I can sleep without aircon for most nights without using the air-conditioning. The built in LED is pretty good, with the 3 colour temperatures corresponding to most of the available lights out there, when I paired with the IKEA GU10 smart bulbs.

Personally I'm considering Alaska fans also. Went to a shop and he recommended it as it is a "mid-range" fan that is using "better motor and bearings" and "Taiwanese motor" as compared to other cheaper Malaysian brands like Bestar/Alpha/Fanco. The hugger design is nice and the blades (Alaska Aspen/Alaska Fern models) are also more curved and causes more wind to blow, and the wood pattern is the prettiest. I've a friend who's using the Alaska Bay and Aspen models for a few months with no issues. Their remote control also not as ugly as other brands. Also, their latest Fern III uses good quality Samsung Dimmable LED while other brands may not have dimmable. So will strongly consider. PM me if you like to know which shop I enquired from. Note: Also found this other brand - Decor SEA Fans - seem to look exactly like alaska but more expensive (?!?).
which fan did u choose alaska fan, decor fan or others?

anyone bought prism+ ceiling fans?
Looking for reviews too, $199 per no-frills ceiling fan (46"/52") without looking like typical classroom ceiling fan.
Feels like hard to beat the price? Hoping no issues down the road

The rest are all 500+.

Any comments on bestar?

just sharing similar experience. wanted to change LED to higher wattage for exisiting ceiling fan. found that the diameter of LED panels are in proportion of the wattage. so even can change, unable to fit into the cover.
