I am currently in mechanical engineering year 1 thinking of switching to physics. Can anyone with experience tell me if it will it be too late to apply once I enter sem 2. Because current application is closing and I'm not prepared to take the leap of faith and apply...still need some time to think . Will i graduate later if I do apply in Sem 2 and if so how much later?

Also, would like to know about the prospects of physics vs engineering in Singapore. I think that my passion lies in academia and would like to pursue it... how about for other jobs outside academia?

I would say just try and transfer. Just do it!

Don't delay... Aiyo you year 1 only sure confirm higher chance to transfer over to Physics lah!

Computing where got need physics? Only math. Unless you doing quantum

Math and Physics are very linked.

Math was derived from Physics.

Almost every field in the world were derived from Physics and Philosophy

btw if u want be uni lect u need go overseas do PHD

It is not too late to transfer, I think the last year possible for transfer is year 2. year 3 onwards is unheard of.
