Change of course help!

Hi, I applied for uni last year and got a placing. However, I seek to reapply this year for another course that I have interest in. May I know what happens if i do so?

I have applied on a fresh form. Will they accept this or do I have to appeal for a change of course? Also will I still have my reserved course of i were to fail in my current application?
