Hi guys,

I am a 1st year Common Engineering student. And I just streamed to EEE.

During the previous Change of Programme period, I applied to change to Computer Science. I submitted the form on Dec 5th (pretty much the first day the form opened).

Can anyone tell me when will the result come out?

And, should i expect a good result? I got a good GPA for the 1st semester thou.

Thanks.

Hard to say what the results will be. But if you haven't gotten rejected so far it means you might have a good chance. Usually rejections come very quickly.

From what I know, some people try to change course many times and never succeed. Others try once and get. I tried for a long time and only succeeded after 1.5 years. The application opens during every break. In December and in May/June.

The best chance at getting a transfer is during the May/June period. Usually, to make things administratively easier, they would rather take you into the course together with the new batch of freshies.

Transfer success takes a lot of things into consideration such as A-level grades, reason for transfer and your current GPA. For me, I was able to improve my chances over the semesters by taking more modules from the course I wanted to transfer to. So if your transfer fails, don't be disappointed, you should take com science modules next semester to improve your chances.

Edit: What's your definition of good GPA? Above 4.5 have? And did you get an A for FE1008 Computing? If you have both, 4.5 and an A for computing I think you stand a good chance.

Thank you for replying.

You did change your programme and you succeed, WOW!!!

So, if I don't get the transfer this time, I should take more CS modules next semester and my chance of getting transfer next summer will be better.

I just wonder, will I receive the result before or after the beginning of the new semester. 2nd semester will start in about a week.

I got above 4.5 GPA ( 4.83 actually ), and I got A+ for Computing.

Anyway, really appreciate for response.

Take a step back from everything and think clearly for yourself and not for anyone else. Start to take responsibility for all your insecurities, knowing that whatever you choose, the agony that comes with the freedom of choice is not an anomaly but is one of the most perennial things of being alive. :)
