Confused!

Hi Guys,

I'm going to Japan in May for a 5days free n easy trip (sightseeing). I will be taking their trains and buses most of the time.

Really confused on the type of trains, buses and the package pass. There are so many limitation to those pass.

Kansai Airport > Kyoto (2 Nights) > Osaka (2 nights) > Kansai Airport

What is the best saving pass that I should get?
Any advices are most welcome!

Thanks!

there is a osaka pass u can consider. may be worth if u are taking many trips on the metro in a day and u are planning to go to those attractions that the pass have discount on.
https://www.osaka-info.jp/osp/en/index.html
there is also the bus pass for kyoto.

otherwise can just get the store-value card, ICOCA. dun really need passes for osaka coz savings are not a lot. more flexibility also coz u are not restricted by the pass.

I'm just planning to get the ICOCA package with one-way trip from Kyoto back to Kansai Airport....for Osaka I'm considering to just go by the KATE bus from airport. It's a pity they scrapped the old package, or I would have just done train rides for trips from/to airport, but a bus ride is more comfortable for me anyway.

Buy ICOCA+HARUKA online to Kyoto. When returning, just buy HARUKA from Osaka by showing your ICOCA card. Savings of 300 yen instead of buying 2 way ICOCA+HARUKA.

I'm arriving Kansai Airport at 9.30pm with 2 children, will there be prominent sign to say where to take HARUKA to Kyoto?

Anyone can advise me how to see the last train by HARUKA Kansai Airport to Kyoto?

And how to see last train via JR Sagano Line in Kyoto? ICOCA Card can be use on JR Sagano line right?

My itinerary for Kyoto
Fushimi Inari Taisha
Yasaka Shrine
Kiyomizu-dera Temple
Gion District
Higashiyama District

Is it worth to buy Kyoto Bus One-Day Pass or I can reach those places by JR?

TIA

Very tight for you to catch the last train to kyoto as last train leaves at 22:16 on Haruka 48. If you collect luggage too late or flight delay then you can consider taking the bus

http://www.okkbus.co.jp/en/timetable/kix/t_kyt.html

Bus pass may not worth it or just meeting the 500 yen I guess. as your visits are basically all Higashiyama area except Fushimi Inari. If you stay near Higashiyama and u need to take a bus to Fushmi Inari to and fro only cost you 460. But if you take the 3rd ride, then you will start to save money.

Sagano Line time table

Last train out from Kyoto stn is 23:44, you can use ICOCA
