Greetings all,

as an attempt to create a theme for my PC, I'd like to change the LEDs colors from 2 x 200mm coolermaster case fan.

I saw videos on how to do it however before I venture on something new, I'd like to see if there's any shops or anyone doing such service >< ( Mostly to avoid spoiling my fans )

Thanks in advance!

Aiyoh, fan how to spoil? You know how to use screwdriver? Unplugging the fans is not difficult either.

Won't spoil one lah, just use screwdriver can already

If the fan spoil, means its defective and just get it exchanged from the shop you bought it from

Why take the trouble of taking whole PC just to change fan..all you need is a screwdriver.
Unscrew the fan, unplug the fan. Screw in new fan and plug it back in.

Wait. TS, do you mean physically changing the LED on the case fan or replacing the entire fan?

Changing case fan only involves removing 4 screws with a screwdriver

For Layman, since i think you might be one, changing the fan should be the most direct method.

If you want to remove the LED Lightbulbs on the Fans and to replace with another different color, some soldering is required i think, i am not very sure on it cause i will usually change the fan instead of going through the trouble to buy different color LED lights.

you can get different bulbs from SLT.

Edit: In all seriousness, I doubt any shop would even want to take up the job of replacing the LEDs of a fan. Might as well save the money, time, trouble (possibility of mod failing evantually) by buying a newer fan instead

Woah Woah how did this go so off track.
The fan didnt spoil.

I just wanna change the LED of the fan for a colour theme. Nothing is spoilt, taking out the fan is a breeze.

My question is : Before I do my own soldering, are there any shops out there that can change the LED of the fans so I can avoid a messy job myself.

But I guess there aint any. Thanks!

Cant u just get a new one? Save the trouble hunting for a shop to do so, then praying that the shop will do a good job changing the LED, and praying that the fan will not spoil in the midst of it.

If u really need to change LED colour every now and then, I advise you get the Enermax Vegas Trio. It has 4 colours (Red, Blue, Green, White) and 10 presets, so if u like me one day decide to change colour, just press the button connected to the fan and it will change to wad u wan. The site link is here: ENERMAX.CO.UK - T.B.Vegas Trio 120mm LED fans though. If u need to feel the gap left by the 200mm fan, u may need to buy 2 of these.

Another option is to scrap the 200mm LED fan. Just replace with a 200mm non-LED fan. And add lighting strips around your rig. NZXT Hue is a good choice for the interchangeable lighting, selling at $55 in most SLS shops. Or u can go for those customised lighting strips. Some of them come with remote controls that u can change to different colour lights much like how u adjust aircon remote control. That shld satisfy your craving for bling bling LED lights in your rig.

ok there are backlane shops who can change led color for you but charges you more than the price of the purchase of new fans with your colors you want, much more because of the trouble and effort, so you want?

anyone who knows how to do so would, because time and effort = $

How hard is it to solder???

SEe0YrV.jpg

I changed all the leds on my mech kb from blue to white.. :D

But u should ask if is it worth it just for a few leds?? Buying a new fan with the colour u want might be a better option..
