Changing excess foreign currency back to SGD

If you want to exchange excess foreign currency back to SGD, do you find it more favourable to change overseas before coming back to SG?

or better to change back in SG?

for example, leftover Thai Baht. Better to convert back to SGD In Thailand, or SG?

Logically, better here for baht and ringgit. My theory is that the demand for these 2 currencies is higher here, while the demand for S$ is not as great in those countries.
