Changing over to IT field

Good day people..
First of all i would like to apologise if i posted this at the wrong location.

Intro:
I'm 25 male
Holds a Nitec in Precision Engr
Currently working as a CnC machinist in an Aerospace company.

Concern:
I've developed a sudden interest in IT of which i have very very basic knowledge of. So before i take the plunge i would like to find out about the jobscopes and job title as IT is very very broad.

Criteria:
Which jobscope handles back end stuff and not directly to customers and also work in teams?
is IT security like such?

IT industries is very wide...


you can be programmer/developer, network engineer, system admin, IT sales, IT support, MIS/SAP/ERP executive and many more.

Talking about back end stuff and not directly to customer and also work in team. You can be programmer or IT support team.

As for IT security it varies from software security or hardware security.
software security can be also programming in (PKI, crytography etc)
hardware security can be (firewall, IDS management) .

Depending on which type of company you work in. Working in IT firm, you most likely to be in team for example in NCS.

Working in private company and be a IT admin or a IT support most likely will be one man show and do everything on your own.

Doing IT security require professional cert and many years of experience.
I hardly see any fresh grad are welcome for these role.

I think u get a diploma first to open doors for interview for entry level job or else I think gt cert also very hard to get in.

The only job that work in team and not deal directly with customer are software engineer or developers that is if u like programming and maybe network engineer in mnc.
