Changing school

Is it possible to change school for uni placing when you're in ns without losing your placing? For example I apply ntu and got a placing then serve ns then following year I apply nus then I also got a placing but when I apply I have to forfeit my placing from ntu before I can apply to other uni. Or is it the ntu placing still have while I apply to other schools only to get accepted say nus then I can choose to forfeit my placing in ntu
