I got SG multi plug (3 output) which says 250v. It has a fuse behind. Can I use it in Japan without a extra step-up transformer?

Look at the back of the adapter carefully, does it show "100-240V 50/60Hz"

If not, you need a step down not step up.

Just get their 2-pin plug on to our usual plug would do.

this means the plug can accept up to 250V. Japan uses 110V, so the plug can be used.

the Japan power socket is the straight thin 2 pin type so that's the main thing.

If you use this kind of chunky adapter, the practical problem is that it's heavy (esp if you plug many items onto it). and the 2 pin plug is not the most secure so the weight tends to tilt it down (and eventually out).
