Yah. I don’t eat caipng one as the dishes usually put there for so long. One year maybe I eat caipng 2 times outside only.
Fish is not expensive one. It is when being sold outside then they mark up so much.
But at such price at $3, sure sth wrong one. Cannot clear finish then need to clear bah.
I wouldn’t dare to eat, the offer is there to allow the stall owner to clear leftovers from lunch. The dishes would have been displayed for more than 4hrs.
It's a win win for the seller and buyer.
Obviously, it would not be fair to sell food that's freshly cooked and food that's cooked 5 hours ago for the same price.
Selling the food cheaper after 4 pm could be the breakeven price, or at best, make a small profit margin.
The other alternatives would be either to throw the food away which would be a 100% losss, or
still sell them at lunch time prices which would be, imo, quite unethical.
So, the seller decided to offer his food at $3 for any three dishes plus rice so that he can recover his cost, and that's a win for him.
While better off people will say, ugh! more than 4 hours! mlmlwml, but there will be the lower income people who are more price conscious, who don't mind eating cold food that's hopefully not spoilt yet. For this group of BBFAs, it's a win.
