Hi Everyone, I need to purchase another T2 box as my existing is very unstable doing timer recordings. Everytime it becomes unstable, I will have to do a reset and scan for channels. Worst of all is to program all the recording timers which is very tedious as it does not have a feature of scheduling the recordings in ‘Weekdays’, which means I will have to schedule 20 timers if I have 4 programs to schedule from Mon to Fri. So, could any Master recommend a T2 Box that has the feature of scheduling recording timer for ‘Weekdays’ and ‘Weekends’ please? Thank you
Have you replace the heatsink on the SoC as it look kind of pathetic? On my K2, I have upsized heatsink on the SoC, Tuner case and another chip that produces too much heat.

Post pic of the program scheduling screen.

Anyone can recommend a DVB box that supports surround sound and at least 8 event timer recording. Unencrypted recording is a plus but not required. Many boxes listed online are stereo or unclear, messaging the sellers themselves they don't know too.

My current Akira box keeps lagging randomly when viewing live or playing back content. It also has issues recording content that overlaps 12AM, e.g. 11pm - 1am

My understanding regarding surround sound is that additional cost is needed for Dolby Surround Sound license (in PRC). Some seller claimed they paid and has implemented them in their STB firmware but it's hard to verify.

The only option left is to go for local (garment approved) STB that has this feature. Unfortunately IMDB has revamp their website, there used to be a list of approved STB supporting surround sound. You may wish to search for Draco HDT2-7700 and Ascend STB-1687.

As for your lagging problem with Akira STB, what type of external HD storage you using? And have you sought the manufacturer tech support for help?

Thanks for the response. Draco HDT2-7700 is Stereo according to the label on a website [ https://www.skycomsatellite.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/HDT2-7700pack.png ] and the Ascend STB-1687 appears to be no longer selling. Do you think the UK DVB FreeView boxes work in SG?
Draco HDT2-7700 does come with Coaxial Digital Audio port which basically meant it's capable of supporting surround sound system. Both STB model can still be purchase locally either in 2nd hand or brand new condition.

As for the mentioned STB, I don't have a clue. As long as the STB support DVB-T2 v1.3.1 (Lite) standard, it should work in Singapore.
