has anyone buy those cheap ddr3 ram from lazada n shopee ? do they work? or reliable?


they have range from samsung kington hynix... how to tell if they r original?

Buy from Caurosell second hand, you can use CPU-Z to check what is the current RAM model
than find identical RAM to pair with it.

I have bought fake ram from Shopee before - both sticks with exact same serial number (2 separate sticks, not a kit). Wrote in to Kingston to confirm with photos and order details.

TWMM even told me the chipset was wrong. Had a nice sweet voice.

Even with the official letter from Kingston, seller tried to insist it was original RAM in the dispute. Took a while, but lucky for me Shopee agreed to the return and refund.

Cauorsell is fine but not Shopee as that place is known for fake products.
If you are really that concern than bring to PCdreams to upgrade the RAM.
It will cost you more but at least the RAM is genuine with shop warranty.

i went carousell to look n someone pointed the guys is selling china rams that cant work.

What is the laptop model?
RAM from China are very hard to identify, the only way is to ask the seller is it from
a laptop that would be the safest.

Err.. most electrical components are made in China.
You want to look for Made in US is very rare.
Put things simple, what is the laptop model maybe I can help you look for compatible RAM.

FYI most RAM are made in China.

With the label doesn't mean fake, avoid unknown brands.
There are Made in US ram but very rare.
Even if you buy from Amazon, it maybe Made in China as well.

Example of RAM from China is like this, it maybe fake as well as won't work.
Brands like Samsung, Micron/Crucial, Kingston, SKHynix are reputable brand.
When you buy just ask is it from a laptop but not where it is made.

Bought 4 pieces used kingstom ddr3 ram from taobao, chips used are all different , pcb board different color, just a sticker paste on the rams and cpuz shows kingston but all same serial number so 100% fake. BUT strange enough, works well for my amd fx8350. After extensive memtest86 n prime test n using for a few days, absolutely working fine.. so i think china has master the art of counterfeiting rams liao
