Be aware that the shape of the storage unit affects what you can store inside.

Your 2m x 2m square shape is actually quite lousy at keeping stuff - anything you keep at the rear - you'll have to remove ALL the items just to get to the back.

I currently use StorHub at Changi - 4.6sqm (approx 3.3m x 1.4m, door in the middle of the longer side) for $240/pm, I paid in full for a year's usage - additional 25% off.

But maybe my price is loyalty special rate :)... as I have been using them for quite a while. Originally, I started using at Toa Payoh, but shifted to Changi a few years later.

right, so you recommend a rect one with a door in the middle of the longer end? i dont think i need a year, probably 6 months at most. so the shorter the duration the more you pay per month? seems like quite a few ppl use storhub so i'll give them a call. what abt transportation? do they provide?

They have a variety of sizes and shapes (mostly rectangular), see what fits your needs.

My first few storage units were the rectangular shape with the door opening on the short side, and it was difficult to access items at the rear without removing most of the items at the front.

I've found the rectangular shape with the door opening in the long side better for item access.

But if you intend to just stuff items inside with no intention to access them during the storage period, then go ahead with the usual (door in the short side) layouts.

For 6 months storage space rental, maybe it was 20% off, I can't be sure. They currently have a 1st month free promotion.

Best if you go down to one of their locations. If you are hiring professional movers to help pack and shift the items, then even if the cheapest store location is far far away (like Changi or Woodlands), the mover's cost will be the same.

You'll have to provide your own transport and muscle power to pack and shift your items.

Treat it like a regular moving-house situation. Depending on what items you're storing, you'll need packing boxes, rolls of sticky tape, industrial size clingfilm, etc.

They have heavy duty moving trolleys at the store locations, but you can't borrow them to use at home...

Remember to label the boxes. It'll be a real PITA to have to open boxes just to find out what's inside.

The storage units can be accessed 24/7 as they are secured with fingerprint biometric security.

I currently use Store Room - Cubicle Stall A1 (Upper)12sqft – 19sqft. They provide free for the 1st month. The price is the cheapest than other storage space.

Try spaceship storage - they charge only $60/month for 15 square feet of storage, no other admin fee. Or if your items fit in their boxes (60x40x34cm), it only cost $6/box/month to store, you need to store at least 5 boxes though. I have done my comparison and their cost per box is definitely cheapest in town for that box size.

Same problem, "Reputable & Prestige" moving company came to quote.
Gave a quoted for $5000 per month leh, see already immediate faint. Call and ask why, the salesman keep say this and that.

End up call another company, Spaceship storage/movers quoted me only around $1000 for self storage facility

Eventually me and my wife went ahead with their warehouse with no aircon type of facility, only $800 haha.

Moving also 40% cheaper than the previous company.

So lesson learnt is to get a least 2 quote to compare even if "friend" recommend...

can contact them online, they even got app on your phone to check your inventory hahaha spaceship.com.sg
