right, so you recommend a rect one with a door in the middle of the longer end? i dont think i need a year, probably 6 months at most. so the shorter the duration the more you pay per month? seems like quite a few ppl use storhub so i'll give them a call. what abt transportation? do they provide?
They have a variety of sizes and shapes (mostly rectangular), see what fits your needs.
My first few storage units were the rectangular shape with the door opening on the short side, and it was difficult to access items at the rear without removing most of the items at the front.
I've found the rectangular shape with the door opening in the long side better for item access.
But if you intend to just stuff items inside with no intention to access them during the storage period, then go ahead with the usual (door in the short side) layouts.
For 6 months storage space rental, maybe it was 20% off, I can't be sure. They currently have a 1st month free promotion.
Best if you go down to one of their locations. If you are hiring professional movers to help pack and shift the items, then even if the cheapest store location is far far away (like Changi or Woodlands), the mover's cost will be the same.
You'll have to provide your own transport and muscle power to pack and shift your items.
Treat it like a regular moving-house situation. Depending on what items you're storing, you'll need packing boxes, rolls of sticky tape, industrial size clingfilm, etc.
They have heavy duty moving trolleys at the store locations, but you can't borrow them to use at home...
Remember to label the boxes. It'll be a real PITA to have to open boxes just to find out what's inside.
The storage units can be accessed 24/7 as they are secured with fingerprint biometric security.
