price unknown yet....we are still searching for a very nice sleek casing for it, looks does matters at time ....
perhaps the case without keyboard...less weight & looks mo of a plaything than a business thing. If it is a std 7" size, many 7" cover that had the diary look

I want my DreamPad 2 to look nice

So you have DreamPad and feel bored..

Try changing the wallpaper or download nice one from market..

*Note: Animated wallpaper do consume more power..

Check out my favorite wall paper below

i would recommend a "rough" back instead.
Look at Tf101. that "snakeskin" looks cool and differ..unlike the rest plain surface...else , we would need to apply Gmask

at last i had China 3G tablet.

DON"T BUY, DON"T BUY.

I think they are living in their own world. wifi ok, phone call ok but terrible sound quality ( as usual), built in 3G not working yet.

Andriod Market? It almost real, they are living in their own world?
Go to https://market.android.com/account, they don't allow me to download.

they have own so call " Android market" button, they make really like real and really have 1000++ of app. They even can download games, apps but i think all this apps are hacked ( jailbreak) and make it at China andriod market" Some of the software don't have , example: Google map. LOL

when compare https://market.android.com/account vs built in android market, is totally different.

The map is always at China.

Luckily I still can check email. LOL
i still testing on it,

I can said , their Android market is living in their own world - that all i can said.

Out of the box, the China tablet might be crippled. Thankfully, there are technically proficient guys out there who would fix whatever the Chinese failed to deliver. Like I've said earlier, the Herotab / Dropad / Haipad after installing a modded ROM, would operate properly. I have yet to find an app in Android Market that I could not install on my PhoenixROM. Previously on a C8lean ROM, I can't get several apps to install, including Adobe Flash; now on a different ROM, everything's fine.

It's cheap for a reason. You don't expect top quality in terms of hardware and software from the manufacturer. However, at least for software, you might the help of the community. I am lucky enough to have a working hardware, enhanced software, at a great price.

Which hardware is your China tablet running on?

The cheapest, most value for money tablet, is no doubt the Herotab C8 / Dropad A8 / Haipad M7. Over at DealExtreme, it is selling at 173 USD inclusive of courier charges.

I am a proud user of it. It is flashable to the latest 2.3 OS, with a built-in 4GB microSD, has a capacitive touch screen and best of all, a great community to support your tablet: http://www.slatedroid.com/forum/139-herotab-c8dropad-a8/

After installing PhoenixROM 1.0, the tablet instantly becomes a wonder. I'm not exaggerating because I don't work for any tablet vendors. Android Market works, Skype with video works, and so far, I've not encountered a problem.

Also, to whoever is worried about bricking Android tablets, it does not apply to this one. I repeat, you can NEVER brick this tablet. Sounds too ridiculous? Yes, I thought this is bullshat until I really bricked mine and unbricked it. If you understood the internals of the Android tablet, you'll understand the reason why it can never be bricked. More info over at Slatedroid: http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/19289-guide-revive-your-dead-tablet/

Companies are single entities which could open and close over time; a proper community will never die.

Just checked out dealextreme and there are many different variations of the Herotab. Are they just different in screen size and minor details? Or are some of them imitations of the real Herotab?

And dealextreme is sold out for most of the Herotabs already :( Anywhere else to get them? Thanks! :o

which model? not all China r bad

most prob he must have brought a VIA processor (Taiwan) tablet though make in china.

if i put myself in china/taiwan rom developer for via processor, I will kill myself. Imagine they have to read english which is not their strength and still write good rom?

very hard la.....

Secondly, a tablet in china is a luxury to most pple, many over there do not even own a smart phone.. a degree english grad in china hardly get 3000rmb.
So it explains why they cannot understand our expectation that we hope to have in android tablet.

But i am sure, if we tell them what to do, they will try their best.

so far our partner factories are quite nice , motivated, responsible, enthu chinese and some innovative too.

Dropad

Herotab

The chipset they use could be different or screensize or type of screen (capacitive/resistive). Both online shops (from HK I think) gives 1yr warranty.
